At-Home Job
One more thing...does anyone know of a good job I can do from home? I'm trying to still bring in at least a part-time income(what I'm making now) but save on daycare expenses while I'm going to school. I can pretty much do whatever comes my way since I have experience in sales, management, advertising, promotions etc... So if you know of something good that doesn't require an investment I don't have...Please let me know! Thanks a ton!
Nursing School & General Update
Ok. I know, I know, its been a while since my last blog. Sorry about that! Its definately been a chaotic few months since our Boston trip (which btw was the best trip of my life!). So, here's the breakdown on mid-October thru today. The 3 oldest kids had oral surgery to repair what our last INCOMPETENT dentist messed up, we lost our Assistant Chief at LRFPD to Leukemia only 10 days after diagnosis, I'm working with Rob to plan a benefit basketball game for his family this weekend, Robbies cousin Amanda died suddenly last Thursday (her funeral is this afternoon), we had a very somber Christmas Party for the Fire Dept the Saturday after Christmas due to having Chiefs funeral just the day before, my work Christmas Party is tonight at the Tower Club, oh and well the big news is I'm going to nursing school! Can you believe it? Its been very hectic and emotionally draining these last few months, I cant wait till the holidays are over-it seems more like a curse to our family considering the events of last year as well...For those of you that are curious I will be going to St. John's/SBU here in town. Spring of 08' I'll be taking prereqs/gen ed...A&P I in the summer(the ONLY class that summer) and more prereqs/gen ed next fall. So if all goes well and I get the A's I'll be studying HARD for then I'll start the ASN Degree program in Spring of 09' and complete it by Fall 10'. I'll be ahead of the game as far as some of the Gen Ed goes so I might start taking the BSN online courses during my last 1 or 2 sememsters of RN and complete my BSN degree. Its a lofty goal, but I'm determined to do it. This is a career that will always have job security. Not like things that are affected by the economy-i.e. my present job. I'll be providing a better living for my family and myself. I believe this will give me that sense of accomplishment I've been longing for.

BOSTON.....
Seriously, I don't like planning things out ahead of time for 2 reasons. 1) Inevitably something will likely change what I have planned and 2) My nerves CAN'T TAKE IT!!!! My tummy is in butterflies 24 hours a day, I'm not sleeping well and my brain is already there! LOL I say all this in a lighthearted mood considering I'm only 4 days away from a wonderful getaway for Rob and myself. But Rob can contest that I've not been myself lately...I'm going to take TONS of pics and post them as soon as I can. Peace Out!

Work, work...
Well boys and girls its official. I've now rejoined the crew at the radio station after 2 years of being away. My job is a little different and I'm LOVING it!!! So for those of you who listen to 99 Hit FM..listen up...! I now have a job where I can drop the kids off AND pick them up..plus one of us is always home with them since I'm off on Rob's shift days. Praise the Lord...I finally found a job to be flexible with me and for that I'm thankful. HT
P.S. For those of you that were praying for Sophie last night when she was in the hosptial-THANK YOU! She is home now and recovering, they're not sure what was wrong w her but its not strep as they had originally thought. Minus a fever and being sleepy she's doing well. \

BOSTON HERE I COME!!!
For those of you who haven't heard yet...I won the "Days of Summer" contest from Q102.1 this weekend. Thats 2 flyaway concert destinations, one in San Diego and one in Boston. While I was standing in the top 4 I struck up a conversation with the girl next to me. She was saying that she wanted the San Diego trip so bad because she hadn't seen her sister in almost 2 years, not to mention her niece who was only a few months old the last time she was there! To which I replied, " You know they say the San Diego trip is the best but I just want to hit the East Coast. So I tell you what, if I win I'll give you my San Deigo trip." She thought that was so generous and said that if she won then I could have the Boston trip. Well long story short-I won and when they were asking me who i was going to take to San Diego-the first trip-I announced that I was giving it to the girl whom I had just spoken with. I dont think there has ever been a time in a group of 100 people( some of whom were QUITE inebreated) that you could hear a pin drop and see their chins hit the floor. Apparently my legend is spreading like wildfire. Even the night DJ's were talking about it. But you know what they say...Do unto others. I hope I blessed her and the people I was around by setting an example. Peace out and if anyone knows of something I should NOT miss while in Boston hit me up!

Fair Schmair...
For those of you who don't know I'm back to work for 99 Hit FM(the radio station formerly known as KADI). While I'm happy to be back, there is one event I could live without-the OEF. Not only did i run my hiney off all day monday-giving out prizes in the e*plex, checking on our volunteers at the gates and being the "prize guy", but were sponsoring the KidzZone too. So I went to work monday morning at 830 and left at 330 to head to the fair at 4 and sit in the heat w no potty breaks till 9....I NEVER want to do THAT again! lol Yeah, I know I got paid for it, but Rob's full day at home alone with all the kids was not fun to come home to either-I think he was on the verge of a breakdown. Once again Bev bailed us out on the babysitting on monday so I could work-THANKS AGAIN BEV! I'm wondering if all you cool people know of any GOOD stay-at-home mom jobs. I've got a background in sales so that would be easy, but my forte' is Event Planning. Anywho, its back to work for me-PEACE

Meals In Thyme
Ok all you busy moms out there in High Street land...its time for the first ever BMMPP(busy moms meal prep party)!!! I'm going to be hosting a Private Party on July 31st at 530. It will be approximately 2 hours long for those who choose to make 12 FULL meals like I am. But, you don't have to do a full load you just need to sign up for at least 6 meals(half or full meals are fine). This will be a time for fellowship, de-stressing and just having a good time with other women who have a lot in common. You can sign up at mealsinthyme.com. Once you create an account click on schedule a session and look for my party. Then you can click on the link and sign up. Its that easy! At the end of the registration it will ask you for a form of payment, if you want to prepay for your meals with a credit card you can do that right from that screen. If you just want to pay with check or cash just hit the check option and then you dont have to pay until the party. NOW here's a great bonus-July is FREE MEAL PREP>This means if you want to help me with my guest list, but you just cant stay for the party, you can register online, tell them you want them to prepare it for you and then you can just swing by during our party time (or the day after if you call them at 886-MEAL) and pick it up! Easy as pie! Normally they charge an extra $25 for this luxury... There is pricing info/package info and FAQ answers on the website as well. I have compared this business to the others in town and by far it has the most variety in the menu, the most reasonable prices and was recommended from a dear friend. Also if we have a minimum of 10 people they will provide snacks and goodies for us!!!! If all goes well we can try and do this on a regular basis. I so hope to see you all there!
My First Blog!
Yes, I know it took forever but here it is! Rob was spending a lot of time reading everyone elses posts so I thought "why don't we do that"? So for all you High Street people who ask me "how do you manage it?", well here's a little glimpse into the aptly titled Controlled Chaos of our lives! Today was another crazy day at home. For those of you who don't know I have gone back to work (still on the lookout for a better job though). We recently acquired a new nanny but this is her last week at work so I was left without anyone to watch my kids. MOTHER_IN_LAW to the RESCUE! Bev was gracious enough to come stay with them for a few hours so I wouldn't have to lose a whole day of work and miss out on the FANTASTIC sales week I've been having. THANKS BEV!!! If not for her I would not be able to do a lot of things and I probably don't say thanks enough. So once again, THANKS! Ok enough with the capital letters. Im off to serve up some chicken fried rice...yum...look out for my next blog-an invitation to busy MOMS!
