Picassa

I'm now trying to figure out why some of my pics are no longer showing on the blog. Does anyone else have this problem from time to time?

A glimpse into the future maybe?

This is a precious pic captured by Sophie's Nana B. It's funny how some moments can capture the soul of a child. She is such a sweet talented spirit, but has no idea of her potential....she's just happy being my little "gracer". Happy Belated 6th Birthday..

Hillary's Top 10 Things Learned This Semester...

First things first...I guess I didn't realize that it had been since the last week of January that I blogged last. Oops! Well, with school you can imagine how hectic life has been. Next week is Finals Week, hopefully I can keep the 3 A's and 1 B I've earned this semester...

Ok, onto the Top 10...
10. Everyone in nursing school is more or less as insane as I am...
9. Martha Stewart is not a role model...she's a convict...
8. Professors do NOT like to be offered help even when they need it...
7. Fetal Pigs smell just as bad as I remember...
6. Parents who take their kids to shrinks to be medicated for 'temper-tantrums' should have their head checked...
5. English is the hardest language in the world, even our own citizens don't know how to speak or use it properly...
4. New Testament history is probably the class I've learned the most in and it has nothing to do with my actual nursing license...
3. If you quit drinking soda you'll lose weight...wait I already knew that..
2. Cooper is as stubborn and bullheaded as I am...(use the potty already!)
and the number one thing I've learned is...

1. Apparently you need to blog on an almost daily basis or no one will read it...

It's been an interesting ride!!

Christmas 2007

I had completely neglected to get the Cmas pics up! Sorry! We had such a great time celebrating with both sides of the family. It was definately a long day. Including Cooper's trip to the ER for 6 stitches that night. YUCK! Included are pics from the different celebrations including, church, SDC and visits to poppy and nana's house-not to mention pics from home.

First week down, 15 more to go!

So I've found out that my Biology class is basically review from freshman Bio 1 Honors, Psych is going to be fun(I have a great teacher who is as neurotic as I am). My Bible class is going to be super hard-my teacher is Dr. Eakins(who used to pastor 1st Baptist) and my english class which I was already dreading is actually going to be good. Too bad it won't help me write the 2 research papers I've already been assigned! Oh well, such is life.

The kids are having issues of their own. Bay has had a toothache all week from a new tooth breaking thru, Sophie has this awful cough, Keegan has been tired and grumpy and well the little boys are still fighting daily! I would too if I had to be cooped up with one person all day! LOL

On to Rob...he's still working his booty off for not enough pay at the Fire Dept, but he loves it. As a matter of fact he won Firefighter of the Year again this year...that's 2 years in a row! Plus he won the training award, which makes sense, since he's the one in charge of all the training! He's actually in Branson yesterday, today and tomorrow for more classes. He never stops, but he's hoping it'll get him a better position either within the Dept or someplace else. Keep him in your prayers for sanity from his work, kids and most of all ME! My stress level has just hit the roof and he tends to take a lot of the repercussion from it. He's very patient with me and that I'm grateful for. Hopefully this will be a learning experience for us all!

BTW Miss Minner is in my Bible course!

Countdown

Well, the 23rd is quickly approaching and that means tons of homework, oodles of studying and the overwhelming feeling that I'm bettering myself. Its been funny trying to get all of my stuff accomplished like buying books, its been 11 years remember?! Luckily the ladies in the bookstore were helpful and didn't laugh that hard. But, you know I never would have been mature enough or been able to accept this responsibility in my 20's. The career path I've chosen isn't an easy one, especially since I want to focus in Oncology(cancer). I ran into an old friend at the mall right before Christmas who(coincidently) is the head of the Cancer Center at St. John's now and she offered her help if I needed it-Love Ya Deb! Aside from the nervousness of jumping into this, I am amazed at how God has just made the pieces fall into place. He pointed me to the school I was to attend by putting a free enrollement bug in my ear(and less tuition), put me in a Christian school with Biblical teachings, made me aware that I can get enough grant $ to cover most of the cost of school, put me at the mall when deb was there(I hadn't seen her in almost a decade) and has given me a peace about it all. Yes even with 5 kids, 6 of you count Rob, I feel good about it all. I know it will be tough, but my mom always said I was a glutton for punishment!
